PhD candidates are welcome through the year.

​

We are now seeking promising candidates with background in materials science & engineering, chemistry, and electronics. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in micro/nano-fabrication, clean-room processes, semiconductor physics, and photoelectrochemisty.  We will take 2-3 graduate students in calendar year 2025-2026 starting Sep.2025. Some key information to pay attention to:

(1) The application deadline for HK PhD fellowship scheme (main admission round for cityU) is 1 December 2023 (at 12:00 noon, Hong Kong time). Applications received after the above-mentioned deadline may be considered subject to the availability of student places. Would you like to know more?

(2) The minimum English Proficiency Requirement by the College of Science is as follows.

# TOEFL: a minimum total score of 550 (paper-based test); or 79 (internet-based); or 59 (revised paper-delivered test; sum of Reading, Listening and Writing section scores); or

# IELTS: a minimum score of 6.5; or

# CET-6: a minimum score of 490; or

# other test scores that may be regarded as equivalent to TOEFL 550 (paper-based) or 79 (Internet-based) or 59 (revised paper-delivered test) may be accepted.
